iPECS Gateways are very similar to our iPECS IP Terminals in that they are plug & play so connect directly to your network and from there can automatically establish a connection with your local iPECS Call Server. This type of connectivity provides much greater flexibility and forms part of the iPECS Distributed Architecture feature.

iPECS gateways don't have to be plugged in to the same local network as the iPECS MFIM Call Server, they don't even need to be in the same building, town, country or even continent for that matter. As long as both sides have internet connectivity the iPECS gateway can be located anywhere in the world. This means for example you could have a telephone line in your Singapore office connected to an iPECS gateway which in turn provides access to everyone in your HQ in Ireland providing cost savings and the illusion of a larger base of operations in that country.
